Ampco's AL Series – formerly the ZL Series – rotary lobe pumps are a perfect choice for sanitary and non-sanitary applications involving viscous fluids.
Ease of maintenance, CIP performance, uptime reliability, and economical pricing are key characteristics of the AL Series rotary lobe positive displacement pumps, making this series a favorite of maintenance departments and plant managers alike. And, like every PD pump Ampco manufactures, the AL Series is supplied with a 304 stainless steel gear case – making these pumps popular with inspectors as well.
The AL Series' unique front-loading seal design provides faster maintenance, easier cleaning, and reduced downtime versus competitors' PD rotary pumps. Both rotors and product seals may be accessed by simply removing the front cover while the pump's process connections remain in place.
An optional, low-cost O-ring or PTFE lip seal provides for additional flexibility in unique applications. All available seal options fit into the same rotor case and may be easily field-replaced, even after the pump has been installed. Optional thermal jackets are also available for the pump cover and casing for applications where the pump needs to be heated or cooled. And, hardened materials of construction for the pumps' wetted components are available in order to accomodate abrasive fluid media.
Bi-wing type rotors and tri-clamp process connections are standard: optional single-wing, tri-lobe and multi-lobe rotors are available, as well as NPT, BSPP, DIN, and ANSI flange-type connections. The standard finish for the 316 Stainless Steel pump components is 32 Ra. An optional 16 Ra surface finish is available.
A specially-designed version of the AL pump is also available for road-tanker applications.
The AL Series is well suited to a variety of applications, including food, dairy, beverage, and pharmaceutical applications. These pumps accomodate viscosities ranging from 1 to 1,000,000 centipoise. Self-priming capabilities up to 12 feet and flow rates up to 230 GPM make this a versatile, yet economical, pump for a variety of processing applications.
